The Sandman

Well, that’s a REALLY old drawing of mine… I think I was 16 or 17 years old back then. Anyway, this is my version for The Sandman, by Neil Gaiman. The Sandman is, and has always been, my favorite comic book. The plot is superb, the covers (by Dave McKean) are perfect, and the drawings throughout the series have inspired me in so many ways that it’s impossible to measure. This drawing was originally designed to be the first one of a series of illustration, but I had much more to do when I was 16 then stay alone in front of a piece of paper. I managed to complete another illustration where I pictured Sandman’s little sister, called Delirium. You can see that checking my other posts.

Funny thing about this drawing, it’s just not so nice after scanned. The colors are not as nice as the original one, and you can’t see the smooth texture of the chalk on the paper. Shame.
